Full Description

Remains of a small building, probably a shieling hut, below Meall na h-Uamha, Applecross. It is shown on modern OS mapping and is visible in vertical aerial photography taken between 2005 (part of the 'Millennium Map' series) and 2023. <1> <2> <3>

The site was recorded and photographed by D Ross in 2024. It lies on a terrace 50m from the seashore and 10m above High Water. It measures internally 5.7 m by 2.4m northwest to southeast within walls between 0.8m to 1m wide and up to 1m high on the north. There is an entrance on both the west and east sides with an indistinct subdivision to the south of the entrances. <4>
