Full Description

A possible hut circle with possible later shieling huts to the northeast of Romesdal, Skye on the east side of the A87 road. It is circular and large, measuring c.17m in diameter with what appears to be a entrance in its southeast quadrant. There are two, possibly later, additions, one on the external side of the hut circle immediately on the west side of the possible entrance and one also external to the northeast quadrant, both of these may be shieling huts or pens. It is equally possible that they are contemporary with the hut circle. There is also a possible wall within the hut circle running north-south. The features are visible in vertical aerial photography taken from 2005 (as part of the 'Millennium Map' series) to 2021. <1> <2> <3>
