Full Description

The site of the former mill of Milltown of Culloden. 'Miltown' is shown on the Roy Military Survey maps as a cluster of buildings although the site of the mill is not shown. It is shown on the OS 1st and 2nd Edition 25 inch maps as a building measuring c.21m x 5m oriented northeast-southwest. It is labelled 'Disused' on the 1st Edition and not labelled at all on the 2nd, by which time the lade is also not shown. The mill lade ran to the south-southwest to a sluiced pond, which by the time of the OS 1st edition map was on the opposite side of the railway. <1> <2> <3>
