Full Description

A desk-based assessment and rapid walkover survey was conducted in connection with a proposed native pinewood scheme at Auchterteang by J. Wordsworth in 1996.

Site 6: An earth and stone dyke is clearly evident from Aerial Photographs in the position approximately shown on Fig 2. It survives as a low earthen mound. It was not recorded on the earlier OS maps and its full course is unclear. A small enclosure survives on the east side of this feature as shown, measuring 10m by 9m. Only the north wall of this enclosure is clearly evident, as the east wall is disturbed and the south wall may have been robbed out. <1>

NGR adjusted based on 2011 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
