Full Description

Historic Assynt visited this site in February 2015.

The most southerly of three almost identical late nineteenth century or more recent stells (see record for NC 25322 17013 and MHG 53694) on the west facing slopes between the Bone Caves and Lyne which probably replaced the earlier large one at NC25070 15620. It is well built of worked stone, has a diameter of 12.8m and the walls still stand almost complete to a height of 1.7m with the fragmentary remains of a turf layer across the top. The walls are battered and reduce in width from .80m - .50m. Through stones protrude at intervals and the entrance survives intact on the south side. <1>
