Full Description
Historic Assynt visited this site in May 2016.
The remains of a substantial nineteenth century fank of one large and four smaller compartments. The walls still stand to full height in places, are of dry-stone construction with a marked batter inside and out, and are capped with turf. Much of the stones may have come from the nearby Ox byre, quarry bothy and enclosure dykes which went out of use at the beginning of the 19th century. Area marked as shieling on Homes Map of Ledbeg farm. <1>
NGR adjusted based on 2009 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
