Full Description
A length of turf dyke at Loch na Garbh Uidhe, Assynt.
The dyke was recorded by C Dagg in 2002 during a survey undertaken in advance of a proposed woodland creation scheme. Site 2: 2. Turf dyke from NC 1621 2498 to NC 1641 2491: This dyke extends into Loch na Garbh Uidhe at its northwest end. From approximately 10m south of this point to NC 1629 2491 the dyke is no longer visible, and its route is conjectural, but southeast of this it is clearly visible running south of the building (Site 1 - see MHG63958) and terminating at a rock face. <1>
The dyke can be seen on vertical aerial photographs taken in 2004 (included within the 'Millennium Map series'). <2>
