Full Description

A small building, possibly a larger shieling hut or bothy at Loch na Garbh Uidhe, Assynt.

The building was recorded by C Dagg in 2002 during a survey undertaken in advance of a proposed woodland creation scheme. Site 1: Building at NC 1636 2494: The stone footings of a building aligned east-west and measuring internally 5.5m by 2.5m approximately. The entrance appears to be in the centre of the north wall. This building stands on a small knoll. <1>

The footing of the building can be seen on vertical aerial photographs taken in 2023. <2>
