Lead Mine (disused)

A lead mine, comprising an unroofed structure, which may be a building is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1876, sheet xvii), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).

A walkover survey was undertaken at Strathglass and Strathfarrar by Roland Spencer-Jones and Steve North of NoSAS between 2021 and 2024.

Site B06: Lead Mine B. Possible low walls of building, orientated NE-SW.
Site B07: Lead Mine B. Circular depression to east of above building, 3m diam, possibly representing annex or outbuilding. <1>

The feature is visible on SEPA LiDAR data. <2>
