Full Description

A possible shepherd's bothy and ?sheep dip or pens near Coiull Ard-achaidh. The features are visible in vertical aerial photography located on a terrace above and on the east side of Berriedale Water with the remains of rig cultivation to the north and south. They appear as a 2-celled walled structure with an elongated walled and narrow 'channel', which may be divided into pens or cells, abutting to its western side. They do not appear on any historic OS mapping, and may be relatively recent in origin. However, the OS 1st and 2nd Edition maps show a reversed 'comma shaped' enclosure or feature without any detail in this approximate location . <1> <2>
