Full Description

A hut circle at Cul Beag, visible as a vaguely circular feature c.20m in diameter in SEPA LiDAR data. <1>

A walkover survey was carried out in the area by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2021 on behalf of Treeline Forestry Limited and Fairburn Estate in advance of proposed woodland creation schemes. Site 93b: Hut circle. <2>

NOTE: The survey map in the report and GIS data supplied for <1> indicates a hut circle but 'Site 93' had been duplicated on the survey map and there was no entry in the report for this feature. Immediately to the west, a smaller circular feature is visible in the LiDAR data which may be a further hut circle not previously recorded (see MHG).
