Full Description
A shieling hut at Allt Caol (Erchless Burn, Erchless, Strath Glass). Noted as the site to the SE by the OS.
What may be two unroofed shieling-huts approximately 150m apart are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1876-81, sheet ix). Only the unroofed building to the NW is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1971).

Included in field survey by R Spencer-Jones in 2022 (Erchless Burn 13). Structure 5, probable shieling builiding. <1>
Away from the other nearby shielings, on the other east side of the burn and on a prominent knoll, walls of turf with some stone up to 0.75m high in the west and measuruing 6.3 x 4.7 metres. Entrance in southeast corner and orientation NE-SW. <2>
