Full Description

A group of three shielings lies on the S bank of the Allt Mainnir nan Gobhar beside a small unnamed tributary burn, some 700m E of Ray. A hut, a mound with two turf huts on it and a small enclosure lie on the N side of the small burn and another hut on the S side. A boundary bank runs along the S bank of the small burn, between it and the hut. The enclosure, which measures 10m from N to S by 7m transversely, is situated on the edge of the gully, cut by the Allt Mainnir nan Gobhar. The area of the shielings is enclosed on the E side by a bank, which leads off from the SE corner of the small enclosure along the edge of a low cliff before running down to join the boundary on the S side of the small burn.
