Full Description

NG25NE 16.17 2690 5664.

This farmstead, which is situated at the head or NE end of its croft, comprises three buildings, a hut and an enclosure. The main building is a gabled rectangular structure with two splayed windows on either side of a central entrance on the NW side and another window on the SE side; it measures 7.8m from NE to SE by 4m transversely within rubble-faced walls 1m in thickness and 1.6m in height and is attached to the enclosure on the SE side. The 1st edition of the Ordnance Survey map of 1880 (Island of Skye &c., Inverness-shire, 1880, sheet xv) depicts a roofed T-shaped building on the site of the above building, presumably its replacement, and an enclosure to the N, of which no trace remains. The 2nd edition of the Ordnance Survey map of 1904 (Island of Skye &c., Inverness-shire, 1904, sheet xv), however, indicates three roofed buildings including the T-shaped structure, of which the two additional buildings are identifiable on the ground, but the small hut to the NE of the rectangular building is not depicted.
