Full Description

NN16NE 2 154 680

Situated on the S side of the Water of Nevis about 1.5km W of the car park is a group of about 20 recessed platforms, much damaged by water and land slip. Lying between the 150m and 450m contours, they average about 9.1m in diameter and the biggest is 11m. They are of massive construction, revetted on the front lip with large boulders sometimes in two courses; there is evidence of charcoal burning on some platforms. These platforms appear to be associated with a built track which zig-zags up the hill.
(Information from John Hutchison, Countryside Ranger).
E B Rennie 1988.

A survey was undertaken of these platforms, and those recorded on NN16NE 1, assisted by members of ACFA. Twenty platforms were recorded in this group; they were largely stone built but very denuded. The size range was from less than 5.5m to 10.9m
