Full Description
Site 5: A length of turf and stone dyke runs SE from the gorge of the burn as shown, 65m NE of the enclosure at Site 4. The full extent of this dyke is not known. It does not extend to the NW side of the burn and did not appear to extend to the SE end of the Airor Burn. Its function is also unclear. <1>
A boundary wall was noted by WCAS in a 2012 DBA and walkover survey in advance of a woodland creation scheme. It was a heather-covered stone or turf dyke that measured 0.7m wide and up to 0.6m high. It corresponds to Wordsworth's Site 5. <2>
