Full Description

The grandstand is first depicted on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map c.1904-5. <2>

A watching brief was undertaken in the Northern Meeting Park by Highland Archaeology Services in 2023-4 ahead of the construction of a new community stand, access roads, and set down areas at the Northern Meeting Park, Inverness. The partial remains of the 1920’s pavilion were exposed and recorded and were found to be significantly more substantial than anticipated in the areas in which they survived. No further archaeology was uncovered within the rest of the development area. <3>
