NG54SE 3 centred on 555 440
(NG 553 444) A depopulated township comprising about 8 ruined houses, some yards and small enclosures. There are lazy-beds to N of the township.
The township was probably depopulated by Mr Rainy of Edinburgh, who bought the island of Raasay in 1846 (Info from Miss Nicholson, 'Eilean Tigh', Raasay and from Mr Macleod, shoemaker, Clachan, Raasay). Visited by OS (A S P) 14 June 1961
Four unroofed buildings, two enclosures and a head-dyke are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Isle of Skye 1881, sheet xxiv). Thirteen unroofed buildings, five enclosures and part of the head-dyke are shown on current edition of OS 1:10000 map (1988).
