(NG 632 601) Am Braigh (OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 1st ed.), Braig (OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed.); Occupied 1875 (OS 6"map, 1st ed.) original settlement totally deserted 1901 (OS 6"map, 2nd ed.), but one new building shown slightly to the S.

Braig, a depopulated township, comprises some 7 ruined houses. There are three out-buildings, and a walled-in spring.
Braig was possibly one of the townships created through the evictions of Mr Rainy of Edinburgh who bought Raasay in 1846 and sent to Rona those crofters unwilling to go to Australia etc.

A township comprising ten roofed buildings, two of which have attached enclosures, one unroofed building and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Isle of Skye 1878, sheet xiii). Ten unroofed buildings and parts of a head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1968).
