NG14SE 3 166 426.

At NG 166 426, beside a small stream at the foot of a rocky escarpment, is a group of 5 single- and 1 double-cell shielings, and a ruined house. They are in poor condition generally, showing mainly as green mounds but some walling is visible (Visible on RAF air photograph CPE/UK/Scot/175: 2125-6).
Visited by OS (C F W) 10 May 1961.

The house is a sub-rectangular building with walls 1.6m in thickness and an internal length of 7m and width of 5.1m; orientated E/W. An entrance 0.7m in width lies to the east of the centre of the northern wall, and a narrow doorway near the western end of the south wall provides access to a sub-rectangular cell abutting the main structure. Orientated with its long axis north-south, its walls measure c.1.1m in thickness, enclosing an area 1.9m in width and 2.5m in length. A later lambing pen has been constructed within the north-eastern corner of the main structure. Visited by R Miket 2 June 1988.
