Full Description
A group of shieling huts on the Allt Mhicheil, Skye.
Lying on the north-side of the Allt Mhicheil at a height of 186m OD is a group of double-celled structures on grassy mounds, numbering at least 12 in all, most are in a very poor condition but two retain internal walling. One is being washed away by the burn. Information from C Swanson and A Johnstone, 7 April 1989. <1>
The original given grid reference for these shieling huts (NG 212 414) is inaccurate, they are clearly visible on vertical aerial photographs taken in 2005 (part of the 'Millennium Map' series) c.180m to the northeast. <2>
