Full Description

Cairn
Information from C J Shaw (Tordarroch) to OS 12 May 1962

A cairn, 50 ft in diameter, mutilated by shooting butts. In the centre are three upright slabs, roughly in line and overlapping, but it is not clear whether they are of a cist or chamber. Fragments of animal bones were found 1 ft from the middle slab.
A A Woodham 1965.

At NH 6716 3733, inconspicuously placed beside boggy ground, are the remains of a cairn evident as a rim of cairn material c. 18.0m in diameter, within which is a confused scatter of stones rising to a height of c. 1.0m. Three overlapping slabs orientated E-W form a line 1.4m long in the centre. Their function is uncertain, but they do not seem to be part of a chamber.
Surveyed at 6" scale.
Visited by OS (R L) 14 January 1970.
