Current (as of 11/2004) tenants suggest that this site was formerly a distillery although no other evidence found to back this up. The 1st ed OS map annotates the site simply as 'Poolhoy'.

Farm, Poolhoy (ND 1903 6073). Farm complex centred around an irregularly shaped yard with an associated house.

A farmstead comprising two roofed buildings, one of which forms an semicircular courtyard, and one unroofed building is depicted on 1st edition of OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xii). 2 roofed buildings, one of which is similarly depicted around courtyard, are shown on current edition of OS 1:10560 map (1970).
