NN28SE 5 2952 8467.

NN 2952 8467. About 6' E of the road leading up Glen Roy, is a rock c. 1' high and 2' square. The figure of a communion cup is incised on the W face. Local informants state that this is a communion table used by the Roman Catholic population after the Jacobite Rebellions when the people of Glen Roy were made homeless by persecutions carried out by the Duke of Cumberland.

This is a squarish-shaped stone with a level top known locally as the "Mass Stone" or "Chalice Stone". It is cemented into the ground and measures 55 cms by 60 cms and is about 40 cms high. A communion cup and host inscribed on its W face were inscribed about a hundred years ago in commemoration of its former use (Information from Ts of 'Glen Roy', Anon, undated).
