Full Description

NH 5394 2508) Chapel (NR) (site of) OS 1/10,000 map, (1972)

Part of the chapel, probably S wall, survives as an amorphous turf-covered stony bank but there is insufficient for accurate measurement. The burial ground, bounded by a ruined stone wall, was last used about 80 years ago according to local information. A few unmarked gravestones remain. There is no local knowledge of the dedication or of the names Priestfield and Croit Moluag.
Surveyed at 1/10,000. Visited by OS (R L) 17 December 1969

The chapel of Moluag stood near Bail'a' Chuin, overlooking the Fairreagaig, and commanding a wide prospect of Stratherrick. There was a large population in this neighbourhood, and it is probable that a priest was resident here. A piece of ground close to the chapel was called Croit Moluag, or Priestfield.
