Full Description

What may be a natural knoll that has been heavily quarried out from the road side uphill leaving clear depression with loose stone on the sides. If this is a chambered cairn then the central portion has certainly been totally removed and there is no evidence of supporting orthostats that would have been necessary if this was a chambered cairn. It does have good views across the valley and to the N, but the land rises to the S and up the hill to the W. 1st and 2nd ed OS do not show anything that relate to this feature, except a rectangular area of cleared ground a little to the west of the road indicating therre would once have been a field on this steep slope. - HAW 03/2005

Cairn reported at this GR by local resident who says it will be affected by proposed development. She further reports a field system on the opposite of the road - check - HAW 12/2004
