Full Description

A short length of stone and turf dyke runs from the stone wall (SMR:NM76SE0035) in a northerly direction before turning to the ENE for a further 80m to the stone and turf dyke (SMR:NM76SE0034) - ngr:17985 76130 to ngr:17988 76136. This dyke is obscured at both ends by the two neighbouring dykes which it appears to be earlier than. It stands to a maximum height of 0.5m with a spread of 1.5m and a quarry ditch of 1.8m wide lying to the north and west. The ditch would have also served as a drain. The land below could have been cultivated, but the wetter ground above would have only ever been rough pasture.
