Full Description
A large steading complex, arranged around a central square containing further structures, is depicted (as roofed) on the first edition Ordnance Survey 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1876, sheet xxix). The site is annotated as 'Offices'. Two further smaller structures to the north and south-east are also shown along with associated tracks and enclosures. The second edition Ordnance Survey map shows a different layout to the steading, as three sides of a square - open to the east. The associated structures and enclosures remain unchanged. The area is the subject of a planning application (IN-04-146) and photographs of the surviving remains of the steading have been provided as a Photographic Record by James Cumming in advance of development. Very little of the former steading can be seen on the ground. The photopgraphs are held in Assoc Docs.
