"Near a part named Barnan Muir ( which gives the name to Muirfield) was the Motehill of the newer town of Inverness ( as opposed to the part around the Auld Castlehill). Through the centuries this Motehill has been called by various names such as Courthill, Justicehill, Hanginghill and Gallowhill".
