(Location cited as NM 778 558 and date of discovery as c. 1909). Beach Estate, Morvern, Argyll. The Oban Times (24 April 1909) notes that 'a body was recently found in a peat moss, on the Beach Estate, not far from Torr na Cabar, dressed in tartan, and in other articles of the dress of a highland chief.
T Cowie and C Wallace 2002.
(Undated) information from Mr I Thornber.
The location suggested above cannot be verified: Torr na Cabar is not noted on the 1973 edition of the OS 1:10,00 map. It is unclear whether the reference to Morvern indicates that specific parish or the district as a whole.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 11 June 2002.
GIS spatial data amended in 2021 to NGR as indicated above from previous marginal NGR of 10000 700000 [IS-L 15/11/2021].
