NH 689 437 A geophysical survey and evaluation were carried out on the site of a proposed housing development. The geophysical survey identified a number of linear anomalies. A series of trenches were placed to investigate a sample of these, with further trenches being placed randomly across the remainder of the field. The anomalies identified by the geophysical survey were found to be the result of changes in the natural subsoil. Two undated linear features, possibly part of a ditched enclosure, were identified in one trench and this area was then targeted by the subsequent watching brief. The watching brief exposed the features in plan and found that they were likely to be boundary or drainage features. One produced finds of post-medieval date.
