Sixteen charcoal burning platforms are distributed along either side of the Allt Ard Charna. Seven lie to the S of the burn with the remainder on the N. Of the latter, four lie in unenclosed ground above the plantation dyke (described under NM65NW 41) and one lies just inside the head-dyke of the farmstead at Caol Charna (NM65NW 10). The remaining four platforms are situated within the plantation defined by the two dykes.
