A group of twenty-nine charcoal burning platforms, on the W-facing slopes overlooking Loch Teacuis, were recorded during a pre-afforestation survey of Rahoy Estate. Most of the platforms are situated within the northern part of the large plantation defined by the plantation dyke (NM65NW 26.00) and to the north of an internal sub-division (NM65NW 26.01). However, two lie on the open ground immediately outside the plantation and another two immediately S of the sub-division.
