Full Description
The former school and presumably schoolmaster's house at Achavanich.
Both buildings and their surrounding enclosures do not appear on OS mapping until the 2nd edition and are not labelled on later OS mapping. The school building which lies on the A9, while still intact and roofed appears to have been abandoned for some time. The former presumed schoolhouse which lies to to the southeast of the school building is still occupied and appears well maintained. <1>
The buildings and enclosing boundary walls are shown on modern OS mapping and vertical aerial photography. <2> <3>
