Culvert constructed during 18th/19th century agricultural improvements.A brick and a fragment of pottery place the feature within that period. The culvert may be associated with the mill lade to the east of the area.
MS/899/117

ND 364 497 Trial trenching was undertaken in advance of a proposed housing development. A total of 20 trenches were excavated by machine which represented a 4% sample of the area. A number of recent field drains were identified along with a stone-built culvert, some small ambiguous features and evidence of recent agricultural activity. None of these features were considered archaeologically significant. Artefactual evidence suggested that most features were associated with 18th/19th-century improvements.
