A possible sheep-dip, comprising a stone dam with gaps for sluice gates across the Brackside Burn, was noted during a pre-afforestation survey. The dam was evidently repaired relatively recently as 'RT 1954' is inscribed in the mortar. The area to the S of the dam would have been flooded when the sluice gates were closed and was apparently used to dip sheep and cleanse their fleeces before shearing. Two stretches of 4m long and 1.5m high walling, which are set 2m apart, would have served to force the sheep through the dip.
