A line of shooting butts, built against the field-dyke climbing the summit of Cnoc na Moine from NE to SW, were noted during a pre-afforestation survey of the Sandside Estate. There are five stone-built and five turf-built butts, spaced from 25m to 40m apart. Excepting one ruinous structure, the stone-built butts are well preserved and stand up to 1.5m in height. They are D-shaped with an entrance on the NE. The turf-built butts have been reduced to low mounds.
