A quarry, situated to the W of the Geodh Sheumais, was noted during a pre-afforestation survey of the Sandside Estate. The quarry trends from ENE to WSW and comprises a 100m long working with an exposed rock face standing to about 10m in height. The remains include a rubble-built structure which is possibly a loading-platform. On the N of the main quarry, there is a 150m long area comprising flooded workings and overgrown spoil heaps. The site is currently used a dump.
To the SW of the workings, amongst a rock-strewn area, centred on NC 9475 6570, there are six boulders with holes, measuring 20mm in diameter, drilled on their upper surfaces.
To the W, at NC 9450 6575, there is an area about 20m square, comprising low lichen-covered piles of small stones. There is no obvious structure to the stones and they are considered to be too widely dispersed to be the result of field clearance.
