Allt a Bhruic
The remains of two shielding huts were recorded during survey by Headland Archaeology Ltd during 1998. The huts are situated on a shelf in the south-facing hillside to the norgh of Allt a Bhruic, some 70m E of NG81NW 19 and NG81NW 20.
Shieling hut A: The remains of a small sub-rectangular structure at the front edge of a shelf in the hillside. It is aligned E to W and measures 2.5m by 4m. It appeast a shallow hollow surrounded by low grassy banks.
Shieling hut B: The stone footings of a small sub-rectangular shieling hut at the back of a shelf in the hillside, some 20m N of hut A. The structure is defined by a line of stones and measures 1.4m by 2.3m internally.
