Bulroy farmstead is described in the Name Book (ONB 1858-61) as a "farmsteading one story high, thatched, in bad repair." It is depicted as four roofed buildings on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1872, sheet ciii), and as two unroofed buildings on the current 1:10000 map sheet (1971). Recent aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 1995) has recorded a field boundary enclosing an area of rig and furrow cultivation immediately to the N of the ruined farmstead.
