Four hut-circles and four subcircular platforms, situated on the lower W-facing slopes of Cnoc an Tosgaire, were noted during a pre-afforestation survey at Caplich. Three of the hut-circles and three of the platforms are closely grouped at NC c.3427 0495. The hut-circles range in size from c.12.5m to c.16.5m in diameter over walls spread to 2.5m in width and standing upto 0.8m in height. Entrances are visible on the W to WSW arc of these structures. Around the E side of the largest hut-circle and situated c.6m away from it, there is a short stretch of bank which is possibly contemporary. The three subcircular platforms range in size from c.9m to 12m in diameter. They are either stances for hut-circles or charcoal-burning platforms.
A further hut-circle and platform lie to the S of the main group at NC c.3425 0490. The hut-circle measures c.12.5m in diameter over walls spread to c.2m in width and up to 0.5m in height. The entrance is on the SSW. The platform is set on steeper ground within the woods.
