A hut, situated within native woodland on the SW-facing slopes of Cnoc a' Bhaid Daraich, was noted during a pre-afforestation survey at Caplich. The hut comprises the drystone footings measuring over 3m in length by 3m over walls spread to c.0.9m in width and standing up to 0.25m in height. The structure overlooks the River Oykel and may have been constructed and used during the 19th century as a river or deer watcher's bothy. The structure is depicted, roofed, at NC 3595 0228 on more recent OS maps (though not on either the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherlandshire 1879, sheet c) or the current edition of the 1:10000 map (1990)).
