This low amorphous mound is located at the intersection of two plots of lazy-bed cultivation (NG20NE 109.02). Several sherds of pottery were recovered from the mound, including fragments of rims and sherds with carinations.
(Canna 968).
Visited by RCAHMS (ARG), 10 March 1996.
An assemblage of pottery and three pieces of flint were recovered from rabbit scrapes into this low amorphous mound during fieldwork in May 2001. The bulk of the assemblage comprises featureless body sherds, however there are also six rim sherds, one sherd bearing a possible lug and one small sherd of Beaker decorated with obliquely incised lines. Some 16m to the E of the centre of this mound, erosion and rabbit scrapes into the slope forming the W side of a stream gully revealed further sherds of pottery, including one rim sherd and one possible carinated body sherd. Two further sherds of pottery were also found in an erosion scar along the floor of the gully some 30m to the ESE of the mound.
(Finds to be deposited in the NMS).
Visited by RCAHMS (ARG, SPH), 10 May 2001.
