For field-system, lazy-beds and field clearance cairns between NG 2295 0509 and NG 2371 0556, see NG20NW 131.01.
On a terrace bearing extensive traces of lazy-bed cultivation (NG20NW 131.01), to the S of a small burn, there are the remains of a large oval mound and two other possible structures (NG 2322 0502). The mound measures 15m from NE to SW by 8.5m and 1m in height, and contains a substantial quantity of stones, much of which appears to be structural; a kerb of large boulders is visible on the SSW. The mound has been damaged by rabbit burrowing, but in the upcast from the burrows several sherds of pottery were recovered, including one decorated rim sherd, together with a piece of slag and three flint chips.
The first of the two possible structures (NG 2319 0500) is situated 25m to the SW and survives only as an L-shaped length of stony bank 6.5m in length and 3m in breadth. The second (NG 2318 0500) lies 40m to the WSW and is oval on plan, measuring internally 3.8m from N to S by 3.4m; it is partly obscured by later field clearance, but traces of a boulder kerb are visible.
(Canna 298-300).
