Full Description
NH51NW 8 522 162.
There has evidently been an iron smelting site in the area centred NH 522 162, as Mr. Stoddart (Information from Mr H Stoddart, Garthbeg) has often come across iron slag in mole hills here. A piece was found by the OS field investigator not far from a streamlet showing a high content of bog iron.
