NH94SE 6 from 9749 4000 to 9500 4019, MR 9 (formerly Lin 511).
The military road heads W between the two Aitnochs.

The military road heading N over the Hill of Aitnoch to Little Aitnoch at NH 968 406 is visible as a rough cart track. From this point it continues W on the line of a modern road.

NH9749 4000 to NH 9675 4055 Wade-type military road in original state. Now visible as rough grass-covered cart track c.5m wide with back drain evident where necessary. No Wade-type bridges or milestones.
NH 9675 4055 to NH 9500 4019 tarred and metalled road 2.6m wide on line of Wade-type military road. No Wade-type bridges or milestones.

The military road initially takes the form of a track 3m to 4m wide, displaying some well preserved military characteristics in the shape of flanking banks. The road W of NH 9674 4055, to the S of Little Aitnoch, continues overlaid by modern tarmac.
