The military road presumably follows the main Inverness railway line.

Visited by OS (no date).
There are two possible routes suggested on record cards held by the RCAHMS. Either the military road followed the railway line or alternatively it may have headed NE through the golf course and then run N across the Strathspey Railway line to Dalfaber. There are a few stretches of grass track of undetermined date visible along this route.
