Full Description
NH53SW 20 513 318.
At NH 513 318, close by the east bank of a burn at the edge of two field systems associated with settlements of hut circles (See NH 53 SW 10 & 11) is an oval burnt mound measuring about 16.0m across and over 1.0m high, with a central depression. Erosion of vegetation reveals a content of heat-stained, friable stones. Site discovered and pointed out by Mr Younie (Mr J Younie, farmer, Garbeg)
Visited by OS (N K B) 21 Feburary 1979
An oval structure of curious shape, perhaps a burnt mound, or a LBA/EIA house with side chambers, about 2m above the NE bank of the Allt Tarbh, and about 25-30m from a good spring source
Information from R B Gourley (Highland Region Archaeologist) to OS 7 December 1984
