Full Description

The lower edge of the field has been used for dumping stone, some of it obviously plough damaged. Some of these heaps are overgrown and have the appearance of antiquity others are relatively modern dumping. Towards the N end of the field (opp the well) there is evidence of an earlier stone dyke within the later stone wall, this was once tree lined on the inside. It is noticeable that there are some extremely large earthfast stones within this section of the dyke - HAW 4/2004
