Cast iron mile post
The milepost at NM 8233 6455 is no longer in situ but the cast iron mileposts one mile to the North and South survive.
1. At NM 8332 6546 at Bellsgrove, a milepost is inscribed “Belgrove = Strontian 3 miles Smith Patterson & Co Ltd Founders Blaydon”. It measures 0.75m across and stands 0.65m above ground level.
2. At NM 8201 6309 at the Ariundle junction, a milepost is inscribed “Belgrove 2 miles Strontian 1 mile Smith Patterson Founders Blaydon”. It measures 0.75m across but stands only 0.40m above ground level.
